Scholarship

CARE Jeunesse's yearly scholarship program supports youth with lived experience in care by providing financial assistance to help them pursue post-secondary education or vocational training. The program recognizes resilience and encourages academic and personal growth through annual awards.

Applications open in early summer and will be announced on our socials, be sure to follow us to keep up to date! 

Free phone with two years of service

Telus' Mobility for Good program is offering a free phone with two years of free service to youth ageing out of foster care. If you are interested in applying, feel free to write to us and we will be happy to provide you with the letter required to sign up on the Telus website accessible below:

Emergency Gift Cards

Need a hand this month? CARE Jeunesse is offering all of our alumni members up to two emergency gift cards per year as long as quantities permit.

We offer grocery/department store cards, pharmacy cards and restaurant cards, so be sure to indicate which one you need. Please also let us know if you have children and your current mailing address.

Tax Clinic

Every year from the end of March, CARE Jeunesse offers a free tax service for all our members. 

 

Missed this year's clinic? Don't worry! Our amazing volunteer accountant provides ongoing service via email throughout the year.

Every December, all CARE Jeunesse members with lived experience in care are invited to celebrate the holidays with us.

Social Activities

Here at Centre Amitié, Ressources et Entraide pour la Jeunesse, we believe in the importance of spending time together. Throughout the year, we offer a variety of activities, workshops and events for you to meet the community.

Luggage Program

CARE Jeunesse offers free luggage to youth leaving care. If you or a youth you work with is preparing to make this transition and you would like to participate, please write to us at services@carejeunesse.org

 

Please note that our luggage distribution can also be accompanied by a free information session with CARE Jeunesse (complete with pizza!). If you work with groups of youth about to age out of care and would like to benefit, please be sure to let us know!

Fondation DPJ Emergency Fund Program

Once per year, alumni of care members in need can apply for emergency financial assistance! This program can help you cover the costs of school, transportation, bills and many other unexpected expenses.

Advocacy Program

CARE Jeunesse continuously works hard to partner with various committees and government officials to advocate for the needs and rights of care experienced youth. Together, we are working towards creating positive change and strengthening the voices of those we serve.

CARE Jeunesse acknowledges that their office is located on unceded Indigenous lands. The Kanien’kehá:ka /Mohawk Nation are recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters on which we gather. Tiohtiá:ke /Montreal is historically known as a gathering place for many First Nations. We are honored to gather and create history on these lands and CARE Jeunesse is committed to provide a voice to Indigenous and racialized communities, to fight against systemic oppression and racism and promote reconciliation.
